The 7th EAI International Conference on Interactive Digital Media (EAI ICIDM 2021) invites demo proposals that address innovative and important topics related to interactive digital media.
The demo session is the hands-on part of the conference for showcasing cutting-edge prototypes and innovative solutions. EAI ICIDM 2021 cordially welcomes proposals for prototypes, tools, and applications demonstrations (demos) related to the conference’s scope, that may originate either from academic research or industry. We particularly encourage undergraduate students to contribute their demos.
As a high-profile, leading-edge forum for researchers and practitioners in the field, the EAI ICIDM conference offers a space for the latest breakthroughs in interactive digital media not yet presented elsewhere to be presented live to the highly skilled and innovating audience and provides a venue to discuss emerging technologies and recent research prototypes with the research community.
The EAI ICIDM 2021 organizers encourage presentations of demos across all areas of interactive digital media, as summarized at the conference’s CfP.
Demonstrate your innovation idea, get instant feedback from an expert audience, and transform your research project into a business idea, by showcasing your demo to the EAI ICIDM audience!
Demo submission
Demo Papers should be submitted through EAI ‘Confy+‘ system, and have to comply with the Springer format (see Author’s kit section below).
Paper length: 6-11 pages. Shorter papers may be submitted, however, if registered, they will not be included in the conference proceedings.
In addition, the author is expected to send an email to the Demo Chairs with all the following items:
- In the email header, write the [DEMO SUBMISSION] tag and the demonstration title
- (*)Two-page abstract (.pdf) incorporating the following:
- Explanation of the demonstration
- Explanation of the novelty, uniqueness and speciality
- The potential impact on the audience
- Quality of the proposed implementation
- Why will it draw a crowd?
- (*) Demo system architecture illustration
- URL of the pre-recorded demo video ranging from 1 to 2 minutes in length. The pre-recorded videos must include both (if applicable):
- 1) an egocentric viewpoint to show a user’s first-person experience to attendees, and
- 2) an external viewer’s perspective to show the device setup and a user.
(*) All files (two-page abstract, system architecture illustration) should be packed (.zip) for submission. Demo Papers submitted to Confy will be peer-reviewed and accepted papers will be considered for inclusion in the conference proceedings.
At least one author of each accepted demo proposal is required to register for EAI ICIDM at the full conference rate and present their demo at the scheduled demo session.
Virtual Demo Setup
Due to the safety concerns and travel restrictions caused by COVID-19, EAI ICIDM 2021 will take place online in a live stream. The demonstrations may include pre-recorded videos, live video feed, and discussions. The pre-recorded videos must include (if applicable) takes from an egocentric viewpoint, so attendees can experience how the demo works from the user’s perspective.
